Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol is a highly efficient ultraviolet absorber, the appearance is light yellow crystalline powder, can absorb 300-400nm ultraviolet, and has the ability to absorb UVA and UVB. It has the dual function of absorption and scattering to UVA band ultraviolet light, and has the extremely high light stability. When it is used in combination with other UVB wave ultraviolet absorbers, it has a significant synergistic effect and can obviously improve the SPF value of the formula.
Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol is a broad-spectrum ultraviolet radiation absorber (UVA and UVB) found in personal care products including sunscreens, insect repellants, hair care, and cosmetic products，also used in the plastics industry to impart light stability to polymers as e.g. acrylic resins, polyalkylene terephthalates, polyamides, polyacetals or polycarbonates.

- Finds application in formulating sun-, baby- & daily skin care products and decorative cosmetics with sun protection.
- Added to packaging and some consumer products, such as cosmetics and paints, to protect the products from sun damage.
Industrial Field
As an ultraviolet absorber, Methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol has very low volatility and good compatibility with many polymers, suitable for acrylate, polyester, polycarbonate, polyamide, polyolefin, styrene polymers, elastomers, adhesives, etc. especially suitable for high concentration, low volatility and good compatibility, processing and aging conditions.
