Methylchloroisothiazolinone, also referred to as MCI, is often used in combination with methylisothiazolinone with a mixture of 3:1, also known as Kathon. The isothiazolinones is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and fungi.

Uses & Applications

Personal care

Used in various rinse-off formulations including hair products, shampoos, skin care products, bath products, etc. Methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone may be used in combination with other preservatives.

Coat & Painting

The active ingredient for in-can preservation, used in various water-based formulation.

Water Treatment

Used to control the growth of bacteria and algae in the circulating cooling water system. Widely used in the circulating cooling water system of petroleum, chemical, electric power, textile, central air conditioning and other industries.

Other Industrial Field

Used as fungicide, fungicide, antistatic agent, emulsifier and conditioner in textile printing and dyeing industry.
