Diethyltoluamide is referred to as DEET, and its chemical name is N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide . It is a broad-spectrum insect repellent, which has repellent effects on various biting insects in various environments.

It is the safest and most effective broad-spectrum repellent on the market today. The World Health Organization also recommends the use of repellent products containing DEET to prevent vector insects.
