  1. Application field
    BIT-20 is a 20% aqueous dipropylene glycol solution of 1,2-Benzisothiazolin-3-one.

BIT-20 is a broad spectrum biocide for the preservation of industrial water-based products against spoilage from bacteria, yeast and fungi.

BIT-20 is a formaldehyde-free, in-can biocide based on benzisothiazolinone (BIT). BIT-20 can be used over a wide PH and temperature range.

BIT-20 should be the biocide of choice for products with pH>8 and production temperatures >40C.

BIT-20 is effective in a wide range of industrial aqueous-based products.

BIT-20 is used for the preservation of industrial water-based products against spoilage from bacteria, yeasts and fungi. It has a mon-specific mode of action which means that bacterial resistance is very unlikely occur. It boils without flashing and is stable in the presence of amines.

BIT-20 is an effective preservative against growth of the above microbial agents in the aqueous system listed.

Household consumer, industrial, janitorial products-liquid

For the control of bacteria and fungi in liquid soaps, liquid cleaners, liquid detergents, liquid laundry products, liquid dishwashing detergents, waxes, polishes, liquid fabric treatment/ refresher products, liquid air freshener/ deodorizers, car care products and other similar cleaners.

BIT-20 may also be used for the control of bacteria and fungi in package utility products including pre-moistened sponges and mops.

BIT-20 may also be use for the control of bacterial and fungi in solutions that are then put into/onto wet wipes for use in industrial, commercial residential and household uses cited above.

Wet wipes containing a solution preserved with this product may not be used for personal care, as baby wipes or for food contact.

  1. Performance characteristics
    BIT-20 is inactive to alkali; suitable for use in the medium of the pH value in the range of 2-14.

 

  1. Precautions

Operational instruction must be strictly followed. Avoid any contact with the skin. Wear protective clothes, goggles, and rubber gloves in operation. Once any contact with the skin happens, wash the skin immediately with plenty of water and soaps; when it splashes into eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water and buffer solutions.
